PROCESS OF GROWTH OF CHILD INSIDE OF WOMEN"S BODY

Life for the human being begins with the meeting of two cells namely the egg (from the mother) and the sperm (from the father) inside the women"s body. The egg and the sperm unite to form a single cell. This tiny,single cell migrates to the uterus and it is there that it eventually grows to from the foetus . This single cell first divides into two cells, then four, eight and many such cells. As a result,there is a tremendous increase in cell numbers. Cell size also increase. But all cell are not the same. Gradually cells becomes specialized structure and function. Cells of similar types align themselves to the tissue. Such tissues then from the cells organs continuous. Growth refers to the physical increases in the the sizeof the body and its organs. Development ,on the other hand, denotes a qualitative change. 

Growth and Development of the Foetus
It refers to an increases in complexity of body functioning. It a period of about 270 days or 40 weeks the foetus grows from being a tiny single cell to a weight of almost 2.5-3 kg.

Growth is a regular increase in the size or weight all living things. The early years of childhood are the most rapid growth periods. If the child is growing normally the child is healthy. Monitoring for measuring the growth is there for a good way of assessing whether the child is in good health or not.
